After seeing the Lightning at the Sebring Light Sport show, I thought I would investigate the possibility of building one at the Green Landing facility in Hedgesville, West Virginia. I really wanted to see what the kit looked like and sample the “knowledge” of the guys while I was there.
I was pleasantly pleased with their experience level. They have been involved in building and selling aircraft for over 10 years and were very easy to get along with.

Ryan Gross who is one of the owners, gave me a tour of the facility. They have a nice air conditioned and heated shop that is well equipped and has enough room for three Lightnings at the same time. In fact, when I was there, they were working on two in the shop, and one out in the hangar.

My next stop was a trip to Sun n’ Fun where after sitting in the newly completed Lightning demo, I was ready to write the check.
Of course, Nick was doing what he does best, sitting and chatting!

Now the fun can begin... I pulled up with my camper and setup for my first five day work trip.
