Why Not WT-9?

Why not the Dynamic WT-9

Cost:  The Dynamic WT-9 is the only factory built in the bunch that I was considering.  It is fast, good looking and slows down for landings much like the Lightning.  It also has a unique feature that you can easily remove the wings for transportation.  It is well made, but not quite up to par with some of the other composites out there like the CTSW.  The biggest drawback is that you can not buy the aircraft as a kit and since it is produced overseas, you are susceptible to the sinking dollar against the euro; so the cost keeps going up.  I thought Light Sport was supposed to be LESS expensive?

Speed of Assembly:  You don’t have to build it as it is a production aircraft, but you DO have to wait for one.  Also, since it is not an experimental, you are limited in what you can customize.

Looks:  A nice looking aircraft, and better looking than the SC and Sonex.  I did like the Lightning’s looks better.

Performance:  Quick, spirited, easy to handle and lands slow.  This one is not quite as fast as the Lightning, but in almost all other aspects, it is a close second.  A little more bumpy than the Lightning and requires a little more work to fly it in a straight line, (yet less than a RV).

Materials:  Another one that is very nicely made.  The fit and finish is very good, yet not quite as good as the SC.  Still, all in all a great looking aircraft.  The interior is a bit rough, but all parts are well made and the aircraft looks like it will hold up well.

Room:  Average room like the Lightning except on the seat itself.  You better have a tiny hiney is you want to be comfortable, because the seat is narrow while the cabin area is average.  While not as roomy as the SC, the aircraft is ok inside, (for those of you with small butts...)  Leg room is OK, but knee room is below average.  All in all, was not a good choice for me.
